Healthy Snack Ideas

Hi guys!  I wanted to remind you guys that while breakfast is important, of course, you should eat every couple of hours so that your blood sugar levels don't rise and fall too quickly, your metabolism will work hard throughout the day, and you're not ravenous at every meal.

This is an example of a volume snack, which is great to eat while studying.


I usually combine fruits or veggies with some sort of carb or protein.  Some good snacks are:

  • Celery, apples, and peanut butter
  • ^ Whole grain bread with nut butter, banana, and cinnamon
  • Granola with almond milk and berries ->
  • A small bowl of oatmeal with toppings
  • Strips of bell pepper or carrots with hummus
  • Applesauce with walnuts
  • Trail mix: banana chips, almonds, walnuts, and golden raisins is a delicious combo
  • Soy yogurt with almonds or granola
  • Strawberries dipped in Chocolate Protein Sauce
  • Warm almond milk with chocolate cookies or a chocolate chip Larabar
  • Smoothies!
  • Apple Nachos
  • An Amy's Burrito or Indian Wrap
  • Frozen fruit such as Grapes, Berries, or Bananas
  • Toast with avocado
  • Celery with peanut butter and raisins (ANTS ON A LOG!)
  • Pineapple topped with coconut shreds
  • Juices: kale, apple, lemon, and ginger make the perfect juice for me!
  • Dates (pitted) with peanut butter
  • Toast with earth balance, truvia or sugar, and cinnamon
  • Boca burger topped with whole grain mustard, guac, nooch, salsa, etc.
Sometimes I also just have smaller versions of meals, but of course these snack options are a great thing to keep in mind.  It would be a great idea to print this list out and tape it to the fridge for those with afterschool munchies!

This would be my brother's list of snacks:
-An entire avocado
-Bananas
-Hella Tea
-Everything
